LEARNING UNIT LAMPPU

Lamppu is a learning unit aimed at young intellectually disabled adults for practicing everyday skills and supporting its students in ultimately becoming more independent and active members of society. Lamppu provides a wide range of subjects for its students, including Finnish language (reading and writing), using money, learning to tell the time, physical education and a variety of creative activities (creative dance, drama, arts and crafts). Lamppu emphasizes experiential learning in real-life situations in addition to more conventional, classroom based teaching. Studies at Lamppu include work practice periods for its students and guidance in finding a path into further studies or working life.
