The café workshop provides work and day activities for 14 intellectually disabled people. The workshop offers its workers various duties, such as barista work, bussing tables, working the cash register and waitering. The café, once opened, will be situated in a central location in Helsinki, which will bring the work of intellectually disabled people deserved attention in a societal context. The aims of the café workshop include increasing communal and societal participation between intellectually disabled people and the greater society and to increase awareness of the strengths and skills of intellectually disabled people, thus improving employment amongst people with restricted abilities in Finland.
